How to Get And Apply for High Commission of Australia Scholarships
To apply for a High Commission of Australia Award scholarships, you must meet all of the eligibility criteria
To register and apply for an Australia Awards Scholarship on the OASIS website, applicants must use Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Firefox, or Apple Safari.
Other browsers are not supported and may not work as expected.
1. Find out if you are eligible Get assessed through our online pre-qualification test.
2. Create an account in our online platform to begin your application. Verify your email and log in to your account.
3. Upload documents Once logged in, you can find on your dashboard an application link where you can fill in your details and upload the required documents.
4. When you create a new application, you will be given a unique OASIS ID number. The ID is in the form AASxxxxxxx (where xxxxxxx is your unique number).
5. Any files uploaded to OASIS must be under 2MB in size. If your supporting document is several pages long and will not fit under this size limit, split the document into two or more files, numbering the files “CV part 1”, “CV part 2,” etc.
Remember the number and quote it along with your full name in every correspondence with the Scholarships Team at LAI, including emails.
High Commission of Australia Scholarship Benefits
The following benefits generally apply:
- full tuition fees
- return air travel: payment of a single return, economy class airfare to and from Australia, via the most direct route
- establishment allowance—a once-only payment as a contribution towards accommodation expenses, textbooks, and study materials
- Contribution to Living Expenses (CLE): a fortnightly contribution to basic living expenses paid at a rate determined by the department.
- Introductory Academic Program (IAP)—a compulsory program before the commencement of formal academic studies covering information on living and studying in Australia
- Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the duration of the award (for award holder only) is provided to cover the scholar’s basic medical costs (except pre-existing conditions)
Australia Scholarships Application Requirements for masters applicants
• Must hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and
• Must have a minimum of two years’ work experience.
Note: Those who already have a master’s degree from overseas are eligible to apply, but may be given lower priority and must be seeking qualifications in different areas.
Australia Scholarship Application Process & Guidelines
- All Australia Scholarship applications must be lodged online through the Online Australia Awards Scholarships Information System (OASIS).
- When applying online, all supporting documents must be uploaded to meet the specific eligibility requirements for Laos.
- We strongly advise applicants to apply online well before the closing date.
- The online application facility (OASIS) experiences peak usage in the days leading up to the closing date, and applicants may experience delays.
- Be open And Truthful
- Do not submit any supporting documents that have not been requested in the brochure.
- Make sure you keep a copy of your application form as a reference. The interview panel will ask you about several points you’ve provided in the form.
