Department of Transport Bursary Progam 2021-2022
The South African Government has many departments, the Department of Transport is one of these subsidiary divisions. Their main focus revolves around transportation, roads and means of transport. This department consists of one main division headquarters, with nine departments within the different provinces. Their tasks include railways, airports, marine transport and both national, along with provincial roads. They are additionally also responsible for road regulations, traffic regulations, vehicle licenses, public transport, as well as sea and air means of transport.
The Department of Transport bursary scheme is known to be similar to the other bursaries provided by each department of Government. They include most fees of study for the candidates, and will cover tuition, accommodation, meal, transport and all prescribed learning material or books.
Successful candidates of the Department of Transport bursary will be required to enter into a service agreement, with the department upon completion of their studies. They are seeking young, talented individuals who have a great need for further education and a love for all that is included in transport.

Bursary Requirements
Candidates who want to apply for a bursary through this scheme must adhere to the following:
- Candidates must be a South African Citizen
- Candidates must hold a valid South African ID Document
- Candidate must have excelled in their Grade 12 Academic Year
- Candidates must provide proof of acceptance from an Institute of Higher Learning
- Candidates must be in need of financial assistance
- Must be proficient in English and have great communication skills
- Must be a problem solver with quick decision-making abilities
- Must be able to work independently and within a team

The closing date for applications yearly will depend on each Department.
