DUT Registration Dates: 2024
Durban University of Technology (DUT) has opened its online registrations for 2024–2025 studies. Be sure to secure your spot and register as soon as possible.
The institution has leaped due to COVID-19 and moved its registrations strictly online. Due to the rise in infections and the second wave, this is a good move for DUT and other universities to make.
The institution has scheduled its online registrations to begin on January 16th. Applicants are advised to take note of this date.

DUT Registration Fee
Below is a breakdown of the DUT registration fee:
Minimum First Registration Installment for 2024
First Installment (Non-Residence Students)
The following first installment is compulsory on the day of registration:
- 1.3.1 Annual Students: Tuition Only: R 4 826.00
- 1.3.2 Semester Students: Tuition Only: R 2 963.00 (Note that this fee applies to those students who only need to register for one semester, usually those with only one semester left to complete a qualification.). Students who are taking a programme with modules offered in both Semester 1 and Semester 2 in the same year will need to register for both semesters at the beginning of the year and will be charged the annual first installment, namely R4 826.00.
First Installment (Residence Students)
The following first installment is compulsory on the day of registration:
- 1.3.3 Annual Students: Tuition plus Residence: R10,142.00
- 1.3.4 Semester Students: Tuition plus Residence: R 6 222.00 (Note that this fee applies to those students who only need to register for one semester, usually those with only one semester left to complete a qualification.). Students who are taking a programme with modules offered in both Semester 1 and Semester 2 in the same year will need to register for both semesters at the beginning of the year and will be charged the Annual First installment, namely R10,142.00.
NB: Single-registration students will be charged the annual 1st installment (i.e., those students who are registering for both the 1st and 2nd semesters) at the beginning of the year.
How to Register at DUT Online
Note this: registration is strictly online.
As a new or current student, you can access the self-service student enabler system on campus or your computer at home by viewing the links below, which will show you videos with detailed steps on how to register online.
Below are guidelines on how to begin your registration at Durban University of Technology (DUT).
Step 1.
Check if your institution has the I-enabler (If ‘yes’, Click on the i-enabler link to begin your registration; if ‘no’, start from step 2)
Step 2.
Go to Durban University of Technology (DUT) Registration Portal Via the link below
Step 3.
Insert your student number and 5-digit pin
Step 4.
Click on Login
Step 5.
Navigate to Academic Registration
Step 6.
Click on the Academic Admission Status to ensure that you have an admitted admission status
for the qualification you are registering for. Check also your application decision
Step 7.
Click on Registration Restrictions.
- Ensure you do not have any restrictions, such as financial, academic, or international.
- If you do have a restriction, your registration will not go through.
Step 8.
Click on the Rules and Regulations. Your document will be downloaded. Kindly read carefully and
click accept. Once you have accepted the rules and regulations agreement, follow the instructions afterward.
Step 9. (Final Step)
View, print, or save your proof of registration.

Note: Students will only be allowed to come to the offices if they have serious registration issues. They will then need to complete a COVID-19 health check on the COVID-19 health check app before visiting the offices.
Returning students will be required to use the booking app to book an appointment before visiting a Durban University of Technology (DUT) office.
DUT Registration Closing Date
Registration has continued to take place since its commencement on January 16 and has been extended Until February 17, students are encouraged to register online and off-campus, for which you may use a tablet or handheld device or any other computer facility at your disposal.
