“We can confirm Jeremy is in critical but stable condition with injuries suffered after experiencing a weather-related accident while plowing snow,” Renner’s representative told the outlet, without specifying where the accident took place.

“His family is with him and he is receiving excellent care,” the representative, who was unnamed, added.

Renner has a property close to Mt. Rose-Ski Tahoe, which explains why he was plowing snow on New Year’s Day.

It is an area that has received a huge amount of snow during the winter and there was also a major storm that led to 35,000 homes losing power. Many were still without power in the morning on New Year’s Day.

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office said that it responded to a report of a traumatic injury at around 09:00 local time on Sunday and Renner was the only person injured in the incident.

“Deputies coordinated with Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and REMSA Health to arrange for medical transport of Mr. Jeremy Renner via care flight to a local area hospital,” the sheriff’s office said.
