Monday 1st February 2021
South Africa received its first one-million doses of vaccines from India’s Serum Institute today.
South Africa has a death toll which comes to a total of 44 399.
As for the total positive Covid cases recorded, that stands at 1 456 309 with 2548 new cases reported in the last 24 hours.
Our recovery rate stands at 89% bringing recoveries total to 1 306 022.

The total number of Covid-19 cases in the country stands at 1 453 761 with 4525 of those cases being reported in the last 24 hours.
South Africa’s recovery rate is 89% with 1 299 620 recoveries.
Deaths resulting from Covid-19 come to a total of 44 164, 213 of them being new.
Thursday 28th January 2021
South Africa’s total of confirmed Covid-19 cases has increased by 7015 new cases, bringing the total cases in the country to 1 437 798.
8 156 239 tests have been conducted with 48 406 tests being conducted since the last report.
On a rather gloomy note, the death toll sits at 43 105 deaths with 555 more deaths recorded in the last 24 hours.
However, to lift the spirits a bit, recoveries stand at 1 272 197 producing a recovery rate of 88,3%.
Wednesday 27th January 2021
The total number of Covid-19 cases in the country stands at 1 430 648 with 7070 of those cases being reported in the last 24 hours.
South Africa’s recovery rate is 88,3% with 1 263 476 recoveries.
Deaths resulting from Covid-19 come to a total of 42 550, 753 of them being new.
Minister of Health, Zweli Mkhize, confirmed:
SA’s first batch of Covid-19 vaccines will be here on February 1st.

South Africa now has a total of 1 423 578 cases, 1,4% of the world total of 100 856 979 cases.
Our recovery rate stands at 88% with 1 254 674 recoveries in total across the country.
Deaths resulting from Covid come to a total of 41 797, with 680 new deaths being reported since the last report.
Monday 25th January 2021
South Africa’s total of confirmed Covid-19 cases has increased by 4551 new cases, bringing the total cases in the country to 1 417 537.
8 019 239 tests have been conducted with 26 113 tests being conducted since the last report.
On a rather gloomy note, the death toll sits at 41 117 deaths with 243 more deaths recorded in the last 24 hours.
However, to lift the spirits a bit, recoveries stand at 1 241 421 producing a recovery rate of 87,6%.
Sunday 24th January 2021
Health Minister, Zwelini Mkhize, has confirmed that South Africa has 1 412 986 cases in total. In the last 24 hours, 8147 more positive cases were reported.
Unfortunately, the country mourns 40 874 South Africans who succumbed to the virus.
On the brighter side, recoveries now stand at 1 230 520 translating to a recovery rate of 87%.
South Africa has carried out a total of 7 993 126 tests with 46 119 tests carried out since the day before.
Provinces have started outlining their vaccine strategies as we become nearer to the first roll out of the vaccine and also the second round.
Thursday 21st January 2021
With 7 820 613 Covid tests having been done since the very first one, South Africa has seen 1 380 807 positive cases being confirmed. 11 381 of these cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours.
Recoveries in the country stands at 1 183 443, leaving the recovery rate to be at 85,7%.
Deaths resulting from Covid have grown by 647 making the death toll from Covid be 39 501.

South Africa now has a total of 1 369 426 cases, 1,4% of the world total of 97 325 443 cases.
Our recovery rate stands at 84,7% with 1 160 412 recoveries in total across the country.
Deaths resulting from Covid come to a total of 38 854, with 566 new deaths being reported since the last report.
Tuesday 19th January 2021
The 19th of January marks South Africa’s 300th day under lockdown.
The total of positive cases found in the country since the beginning of the pandemic now stands at 1 356 716 with 9780 new cases being reported since yesterday.
7 700 019 tests have been conducted so far.
Total deaths are at 38 288 while recoveries are at 1 144 857, a recovery rate of 84%.
There are now reports which suggest that the country has passed it’s peak of the second wave.
Monday 18th January 2021
Things are looking up when it comes to our Covid statistics as we see a decrease of new cases being reported daily. 9 010 new cases were recorded since the last report. This leaves the confirmed total of positive cases to stand at 1 346 936.
Deaths relating to Covid have increased by 344 making the total deaths come to 37 449.
Recoveries in the country now stand at 1 117 452. This would mean that our recovery rate stands at 83%.
During a conference on Monday night, Health Minister Zweli Mkhize said:
Yesterday we noted a 23% decrease in new cases nationally compared to 7-days prior.
However, the health care system continues to experience significant strain with hospitalisations continuing to trend upwards, showing an 18,3% on increase on 16 January compared to 7-days prior.

A confirmed total of 1 337 926 positive cases were recorded with 12 267 new cases being recorded in the last 24 hours.
Deaths resulting from Covid-19 are now at 37 105.
In brighter news, recoveries stand at 1 098 441 which translates to a recovery rate of 82,1%.
