NSFAS Applications For TVET Students Opened

Are you a TVET College student wishing to be funded? NSFAS is here for you currently holding her 2021 walk-in applications.

The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) provides fully subsidised free higher education and training for poor and working class South Africans.

NSFAS offers bursaries to South African students who plan to study at public universities and TVET colleges. They cover funding for registration, tuition and allowances.

NSFAS applications are closed but provisions are made for walk-ins to accommodate late applications at Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges.

The following are the requirements for NSFAS:

  • You’re a South African citizen
  • If you’re a SASSA grant recipient, you qualify for funding
  • You have a combined household income of not more than R350 000 per year
  • Person with disability: Combined household income must not be more than R600 000 per year

The walk-in applications for TVET students to be funded by NSFAS opened on 18 January and will close on 15 February 2021. Students are advised to visit their campuses for assistance.

While the country is under level 3 lockdown restrictions students are asked to observe all safety protocols, such as wearing a mask over your mouth and nose, washing your hands or sanitizing regularly and maintaining a social distance of at least 1.5 metres in public areas.
