About NSFAS Lastchance Application

NSFAS encourages qualifying students who are registered in the 2021 academic cycle and are without any other form of a bursary to enquire with their Financial Aid Office whether they qualify to apply during this window or not. prepare all the relevant supporting documents and apply as soon as the university gives you the go-ahead. Applications submitted after the closing date will not be considered. Applications will open for two weeks.

Eligibility

To qualify for NSFAS funding, the applicant should:

• Be a South African Citizen or a permanent resident
• Be registered at any of the public Universities for 2021
• Have a combined household income of not more than R350 000 per annum
• Have a combined household income of not more than R600 000 per annum for persons living with disabilities
• SASSA recipients automatically qualify on financial eligibility
• Have a valid email address
• Have his/her own cellphone number

Requirements

These are the Required document you will be needing for NSFAS Lastchance Application

• Copy of student’s ID (if they have a Smart ID card, both sides should be visible on the copy)

• Copy of students parent/s / Guardian or spouse ID

• Proof of income (where applicable)

Note:  NSFAS will ONLY ACCEPT Applications received from registered university students who were unable to apply in the 2021 academic year.

Students must register on the myNSFAS portal and complete the application form to apply for funding as well as to track their application status after applying.

• Note that before you can apply, you must have an NSFAS profile, no panicking if you do not have just follow the steps on the link below to create your NSFAS profile.

August 18, 2021, to September 03, 2021.
