- Updating Quality reports
- Evaluating batches during initial processing, sensory and analytical testing
- Raising Notifications for failing blends
- Communication with Operators on In-process adjustments and offloading of batches
- Issue out rework instructions and updating system
- Updating system on tests when a batch is off loaded
- Analytical analysis for After-Packing samples
- Approval of chemicals, top notes and after-packing samples after hours, when required by production
- Approval of HVP, Maillard and liquids (pH and moisture)
- Completion of night shift X–Ray verification tasks
- Sensory Evaluation for after-packing batches
- Conducting Allergen testing
- Completion of QC on-line checks
- Good housekeeping & Good lab practices
- Support internal audit
- Preparation of reagents and solvents
- Internal calibration and verification of lab equipment
- Matric with completed Diploma or Degree in Food Technology, Biotechnology or Analytical Chemistry.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a QC Analyst, preferably within a Food Manufacturing Environment.
- Knowledge of Food Safety, HACCP & GMP.
- Technically savvy in essential computer software (e.g. MS Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Internal Audit Experience will be added advantage
- Attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines
