Episode 09 – UVelaphi?

Rebs is left shocked and fuming when Chuma reveals that he left the money at The Black Door and seems unphased by Rebs’ threats. Rebs who does not trust Chuma enlists Kenny with following Chuma around hoping he will lead them to the 2 million.
Chuma who is trying to reacquaint himself with his old life feels sad and emotional when he finds out about the people who died during his absence, he is even more grateful for his family unaware that Nomncebo has arrived in Eshlahleni.
At the mountain Velaphi defeats Nyiko at stick fighting and him and the other initiates return to jubilation. An excited Thenji is left outraged when Velaphi recites the Motaung clan names, but Velaphi insists that he’s a Motaung and introduces them to Pheko. Thenji is gutted as Nomsa and Nelly try to calm her down.
Episode 10 – Back To Life

Thenji causes a scene at the initiation ceremony demanding Pheko to leave after Pheko announces he has brought the meat for the celebration. Nomsa chastises Thenji for her behaviour, while Khaya tries to speak to Velaphi and is thrown when Velaphi reminds him of Ifalethu’s paternity. Pheko comes to apologise to Velaphi for how things turned out at his ceremony making Velaphi see him in an even better light not knowing that he is playing right into Pheko’s snare.
A shocked Chuma rushes to stop Nomcebo before anyone sees her, but unbeknownst to him Rebs notices and grows curious. He is forced to tell Nomncebo the truth about the fact that he is married and faked his own death a fact that shocks Nomncebo but she takes it but she gives him an ultimatum; Chuma after managing to talk Nomncebo into giving him money asks Bandze to keep an eye on Nomncebo for him promising to pay Bandze handsomely.
Nka decides to use Chuma’s return to lure people to the church and receive their miracles. Chuma uses the money he got from Nomncebo to buy gifts for his family and repay Khaya back and while everyone praises him, Khaya suppresses his anger.
Episode 11 – Dead Man Alive Through Papa

Feeling jealous about Chuma climbing himself to family leader, Khaya explodes on Chuma at work for making a misstake and Chuma quits. Chuma vents to Nomsa but is left feeling bad when Nomsa shames Khaya for being a sex worker and a brothel owner tarnishing the surname.
Nomsa asks Nandi to step in as mediator and help end the fight between Khaya and Chuma and Nandi is touched to be trusted with such a big task. Meanwhile, Thenji finds herself in between Pheko and her own family who wants her to give Pheko a chance, not knowing that they too are playing into Pheko’s evil plan.
Nomncebo pays Nolitha’s kitchen a visit and studies her but ends up bumping into Rebs whose plan is to pose as a friend to Nomncebo. At the church Nka invites the community to his Night Of Miracles – Dead man Alive, but Nomsa is not happy to see her son, Chuma, all over it.

Nandi who is on a mission to get the brothers in good books and to rekindle Nolitha and Chuma’s love manages to convince Khaya to a double date with Chuma and Nolitha, but when Khaya and Nolitha get along like a house on fire after Chuma leaves, Nandi is left feeling unimpressed.
Rebs orders Kenny to do a background check on Nomncebo while Thenji pays some goons to threaten Pheko into leaving but the plan does not work as Pheko assures Velaphi he is going nowhere.
Nka finds himself cornered when during his sermon on miracles, a mourning family bring a dead body asking him to raise the dead man. Nka uses his gift of the gab and some verses to worm himself out of the situation leaving the congregants silenced as he wipes his brow.
Episode 13 – A Trip Down Memory Lane

Pheko makes his move and goes to the Sokhulus with a goat to Thenjiwe’s annoyance. He announces that he wants to honour tradition by paying damages for Velaphi saying he will pay a million if he has to.
The news is well received by the Sokhulus but Thenji feels betrayed by her family. Nandi who is on a mission to get Chuma and Khaya get along asks Chuma to make time and hang out with Khaya, suggesting that it might be good for the both of them.
The plan works ,seeing the two brothers settling their differences over a game of soccer and then later reminiscing about on old times coming to the realisation that they’ve always been there for each other, through thick and thin. Rebs is excited when Kenny presents his finding on Nomncebo, she decides to bait Nomncebo and offers to help her find a place to stay.
While Nka after having had his head bitten off by Chuma for using his face to attract congregants embarks on a forty day fast, Velaphi is shocked when he finds out Amahle is pregnant with his child.
Episode 14 – For Man Shall Not Live On Bread Alone

Nomcebo excited to have found a friend in Rebs wants to live large and is happy Rebs will help her find the perfect house. Bandze however is a bit suspicious and alerts Chuma. Chuma is bummed when he finds Nomncebo being sweet talked by Rebs and tries to stop her from buying the house near to Rebs’ mansion but Nomncebo refuses to listen and puts an offer on the house.
Nkanyiso announces his forty day fast to the congregants who doubt he can pull it off, he manages to convince Enhle to join him on his fast but he is later caught red handed by Marth eating leftovers from the fridge. At the Sokhulus Velaphi who is still shocked by Amahle’s pregnancy snaps at Thenjiwe and Nolitha who blame his behaviour on adolescence and Thenji hopes he is not back on drugs.
Velaphi later apologises to Thenjiwe but does not have the courage to tell her what it is that is really bothering him and when he meets up with Amahle, he tells her the pregnancy is her problem and he wants nothing to do with it leaving Amahle in disbelief. Khaya on the other hand walks in on Rebs demanding her 2 million from Chuma and is left guilt ridden when he realises that his empire is built with the same 2 million.
Episode 15 – A Storm of Secrets

A guilt-ridden Khaya in an attempt to bury his guilt, tells Nandi of his plan to give Chuma his job back, Nandi is happy to hear that as she feels her intervention is the cause of Khaya’s change of heart about rehiring Chuma.
Khaya makes the announcement to the family adding that he will give Chuma an increase leading to Chuma and Khaya having an emotional moment at the depot as Chuma thanks and applauds Khaya for holding the fort and ensuring the family is well taken care of, Chuma promises to not let Khaya down but he is left sweating bullets when Rebs tells him she wants a cut of the depot or she will rat him out to Chief Ngwenya.
Nka is having a hard time sticking to his fast, he decides to call on Papa for help and is given a bracelet that has the powers to lure people to church the only catch being that in order to keep the congregants he needs to sleep with a virgin; Nka is up for the challenge. Velaphi suggests an abortion to Amahle who refuses as she is too far along. He confides in Pheko and is pleasantly surprised when Pheko plays the supportive uncle and pledges to help Velaphi through the pregnancy.
Episode 16 – Great Expectations

Chuma manages to grab the phone from Rebs before she speaks to Chief Ngwenya and has no choice but to agree on meeting with her to plan a way forward on how Rebs can get what she wants.
At the meeting Rebs orders Chuma to clean out the depot as punishment to Khaya and leaves Chuma reeling when she reveals that Velaphi used to be her goon. An unaware Khaya is over the moon when he receives his first big order and the Client pays deposit and wants his orders delivered by the end of the week.
Khaya shares the big order news with the family and mentions all the great things he’ll do for them once his profit comes in and they all rejoice not knowing of Rebs plans against him. Velaphi who is feeling much better after his chat with Pheko is taken aback when Amahle rocks up unannounced accompanied by her aunts and ‘dump’ her at the Sokhulu home. As the Sokhulus are trying to come to grips with Velaphi’s issue, Thenjiwe has a heart to heart with Velaphi about fatherhood but things turn for the worst for Velaphi when Nicole drops another bombshell on Velaphi when she tells him she is pregnant.
At the church the bracelet works as promised bringing women to the church but there are no virgins in sight for Nka, a discouraged Nka airs his view to Enhle not knowing that Nelly who is at earshot is listening and has a twinkle on her face. What could she be up to?

Episode 17 – Double Barrel
TX date : Tuesday- 13 June 2023
Velaphi feels his life is spiralling out of control after Nicole’s bombshell. Chuma confronts him with a slap around for having served as one of Rebs’ goons and he retaliates by telling Chuma he has no child. Chuma and the family are all shocked and Chuma demands for an explanation.
Velaphi seeing the tension then explains that he meant that it was Khaya who has been acting like a father to Ifalethu which only serves to rile Chuma up who feels Velaphi is ungrateful because he does not know the sacrifices he made for the family. Nka who is almost giving up on his search for a virgin is surprised when Nelly approaches him offering to wash his cloth, but Nka is suspicious.
Nka invites Nelly into the Mabuza house and she is surprised when he gives her a real cloth to wash but then later reveals to her, he is looking for a wife, Nelly is not offended at all because this is her gateway to the happily ever after she craves.
Velaphi not knowing what to do runs to Pheko who offers him a home in Rustenburg, this he does not knowing that Velaphi also has Nicole, Amahle fed up with Velaphi tells the whole family Velaphi has another issue he needs to tell them about leaving Velaphi panicked. Meanwhile Chuma who sees no other way out of Rebs’ snare checks out the depot hidden cameras and exits points as he prepares to rob Khaya and breaths a sigh of relief when Khaya who walks in on him misses the fact that Chuma was going over plans of how he will rob him.
Episode 18 – Clean Out
TX date : Wednesday- 14 June 2023
A panicked Velaphi thinks on his feet and gets out of a near-ousted situation with Amahle. With Nicole in his room Velaphi is caught dishing an extra plate of food and tells Thenjiwe, it is for Amahle. Back in his room Velaphi tells his baby-mamas the sleeping arrangements and they are both unhappy but Velaphi is not interested in their squabbles.
The next day Velaphi struggles to keep the secret and suggests to the girls that they run off to Rustenburg; but their plans are thwarted when Nicole’s father comes knocking at the Sokhulu house accusing the Sokhulus of kidnapping. Nelly finds herself self-cornered as she is not a virgin but needs to appear to be one.
She asks Thenji for tips to bring back her virginity and Thenji suggests Yoni steaming which she tries but burns her bum. When Nka wants him and Nelly to go get it on at the mansion, Nelly knowing her truth ; lies that she has a headache and rejoices when Nka gives her money to get painkillers and some chocolate.
Nolitha wakes up to an empty bed and wonders where Chuma is; Chuma himself is struggling to keep up with his double life by appeasing Nomcebo through sex. He however has the Rebs’ issue to deal with and convinces Bandze to help him clean out the depot with Chuma, provided he gets him a job and gets him out of the house – Nomcebo is driving him nuts.
He tells Rebs he is set for the clean out but makes it clear to Rebs that he’ll do the clean out but not with Velaphi and warns Rebs to stay away from Velaphi and Khaya. Chuma then introduces Kenny to Bandze and goes over the plan to clean out the depot.
Episode 19 – The Enemy Within
TX date : Thursday- 15 June 2023
The Sokhulus are shocked and confused to wake up to a white man and police claiming that they kidnapped his daughter. Nicole’s father accuses Khaya of raping his daughter, thinking that Khaya is Velaphi. As the Sokhulus try to come to terms with what is happening Thenji is left reeling when Pheko reveals that he paid damages to Amahle’s father.
Nelly who is still on her quest to get her virginity back tries out different concoctions, Nka panics when Papa tells him he is running out of time but rejoices when Nelly tells him she is ready.
While Nomncebo showers Chuma with gifts unimpressed
Nolitha tells Nomsa that Chuma hasn’t been sleeping home and subtly tries to get Nomsa to support her getting back with Khaya but it does not work. At the depot its excitement all around as the NBM huge order is almost done but Chuma watches them in guilt. Later Chuma and the guys set it off and clean out the depot but he is unaware that he missed one camera that records everything.
Episode 20 – Betrayed by a Brother
TX date : Friday- 16 June 2023
Chuma and the goons deliver the stolen cool drinks to Rebs and makes it clear they are even now. He returns home and acts devastated with Khaya and the rest of the family when they learn that the depot has been robbed and find the depot empty.
Chuma starts panicking when he finds Khaya sending out his goons to Eshlahleni to find out who cleaned out the depot, he panics even more when Khaya mentions the hidden camera and that it records everything. Later Chuma is left horrified when he walks in on Khaya as he is about to watch the footage of the robbery.
At the church Nka and Nelly get intimate but is left confused when he tries out his powers and they do not work. Frustrated he confronts Papa and is even more frustrated when he is told he did not sleep with a real virgin. Meanwhile Thenji confronts Pheko for not leaving Esihlahleni and almost exposes herself for hiring the thugs to threaten Pheko. Pheko speaks to Velaphi telling him to take responsibility for his actions and tries winning him over by assuring him that the Motaungs will accept him with his mistakes .
At home Nomsa escorts Amahle back to her home and Velaphi is relieved but only for a short while as he is woken up by a frantic call from Nicole.
Episode 21 – Destroying Evidence
TX date : Monday- 19 June 2023
Just as Khaya is about to play the video footage Chuma deliberately spills coffee on Khaya’s laptop. Khaya believes it’s a mistake; Chuma is relieved and watches closely noting where Khaya puts the USB. Later Chuma creeps into the house and manages to steal the USB and as he does Nandi walks in. Thenji thinks they’ve dodged a bullet when Velaphi can’t get hold of Nicole but is shocked when she finds out from Nomsa and Bulelani that Amahle’s father wants Velaphi to marry Amahle.
The family agrees that Velaphi is too young to marry and that they will take Amahle’s family to court should they deny them access to the baby. Nomsa shocks Thenji when she comes back with baby clothes and tells Thenji the baby is coming whether they like it or not.
Nka who is disappointed that Nelly was no virgin asks Enhle about Nelly’s past and is shocked to discover that Nelly has a whole Pakistani baby. Enhle’s claims are confirmed when Nka busts Nelly buying baby clothes and with no way of getting out of the situation she is forced to admit to Nka that she isn’t a virgin, and she has a child; Nka is left speechless.
Velaphi who is trying to get used to his two baby mamas is left rattled when Nolitha threatens to expose him for killing Bra Gibb if he even mentions that the child is not Chumas. Velaphi later is left worried when Pheko asks for Nicole’s address while at the mansion Kenny returns with money from selling Khaya’s cool drinks and Rebs plans on saving her car from the sheriff’s auction.
Episode 22 – All Things Fall Apart
TX date : Tuesday- 20 June 2023
Khaya is happy when his laptop switches on but look as he may find his USB. Velaphi bursts in demanding that Nolitha’s kitchen be removed from the tavern but his plan goes awry as no one supports him. As the family is getting ready to leave for the day, Pheko arrives unannounced with Frikkie in tow.
They Sokhulus are surprised when Frikkie tells them he wants to work out an amicable solution with them but he changes his mind when he learns about the dysfunctions in the Sokhulu household. Later Velaphi is left devastated when Nicole tells him she is being shipped to Australia but when Pheko speaks to him he leaves Velaphi with an idea.
Meanwhile Nka draws the line on Papa’s antics, when he is told that he has to sleep on atop a grave. Nka goes to the supermarket where Nomsa threatens to expose him for preying on girls; he begs her not to expose him, but she tells him to repent and relinquish his pastoral duties.
Seeing no other way Nka steps down as the pastor. Khaya is in a fix with the NBM client who keep calling about their late order. Khaya contemplates coming clean but Chuma and Nandi advice him not to and when the two brothers are alone Chuma suggests they heist a cool-drink truck to replace the order Khaya refuses as its against his morals but as pressure from the NBM client mounts Khaya agrees to do the heist, but swears it’s only once, and he wants nobody harmed.
Episode 23 – Rob Peter To Pay Paul
TX date : Wednesday- 21 June 2023
Velaphi’s big idea is to elope to the Northwest and when he tells Nicole she thinks it’s a great idea. Velaphi instructs Nicole to pack her bags and wait for him, as he needs to go fetch his own belongings.
Just as he is about to leave Velaphi is shocked when Frikkie confronts him and calls the police, Velaphi is arrested. At the mansion Nomcebo and Rebecca are excited about the party. When Chuma comes to visit Nomcebo expresses her unhappiness, she feels neglected by Chuma.
In Eshlahleni Bulelani walks MaMkhize home from the shops and Matshidiso spots them and is enraged as she realises her suspicions about Bulelani and MaMkhize may be true.
Nelly advises Matshidiso to go for a makeover if she wants to win Bulelani back. At the depot Khaya introduces Chuma to his goons. The goons come back with intel about the targeted truck, and they ready themselves. During the heist the driver hits the panic button and Chuma loses it leaving Khaya shocked when he witnesses Chuma beating a man that’s pleading for his life to a pulp.
Episode 24 – A Parade Of Secrets
TX date : Thursday- 22 June 2023
Khaya who is rattled by Chuma’s ruthlessness during the heist confronts Chuma about his aggressive behaviour. Chuma apologises just as Nandi walks in and is shocked to find the depot full, Khaya is left annoyed when Chuma acts like he does not know how Khaya pulled it off. Nomsa and Thenji are distraught because of Velaphi’s arrest.
The manage to bail him out and when they get home Velaphi is left feeling rejected when he overhears Khaya telling Chuma that he deserved the beating Frikkie gave him. Chuma however is not happy with Velaphi’s beating, he asks Bandze to send Frikkie a ‘message’. Velaphi is later relieved when Tk tells him that the charged against him have been dropped but it’s a bittersweet moment as he realises he will never see Nicole again.
Nelly has managed to convince Matshidiso to get a makeover and the two go thrift shopping. Nelly teaches Matshidiso how to strut her stuff but when Matshidiso tries it in front of Malume Bulelani, he ridicules her leaving her feeling hurt. Chuma attends Rebs and Nomncebo’s party and is shocked when he recognizes some of the guests as his old clients from The Black Door. Nomncebo who is being a gracious host is left fuming when she overhears some of the women talking about Chuma the sex worker and she realises that he has slept with half of the women at the party.
Episode 25 – Identities
TX date : Friday- 23 June 2023
Chuma and Bandze are busy catching up when they are disturbed by a seething Nomcebo who wants to have a word with Chuma. Nomcebo rages at Chuma for being a sex worker but he denies the rumours and she throws him out. Chuma returns home and is stung further when Nolitha tells him how she feels, Chuma doesn’t have time for her or Ifalethu and how Khaya was doing a better job.
Chuma in an effort to fix things with Nolitha asks Nandi to set up something romantic for him and Nolitha, he also decides to come clean about his life as a sex worker to Nomncebo who gives him 24 HOURS to break things off with Nolitha or its over between the two of them.
While Khaya keeps his promise and spoils the family with the money made from the NBM order; Velaphi is shocked when he learns of the Pheko’s financial woes. He approaches Khaya and asks for a stipend but Khaya puts him in his place leaving him seething.
He later surprises the Sokhulus when he announces he wants to change his surname to Motaung. A humiliated Matshidiso confronts Nelly about giving her a horrible makeover. She later sees Bulelani escorting MaMkhize into the Sokhulu house and she confronts MaMkhize for stealing her man, but MaMkhize chases her out.
Episode 26 – Returning To My Roots

The Sokhulus fume over Velaphi announcing he wants to change his surname but he is adamant. Thenji tries to talk some sense into Velaphi, but they end up exchanging some nasty words leaving Thenji hurt and Nomsa consoles Thenji. A conniving Rebs offers Nomcebo her helper Martha to come help her at the mansion and Nomcebo is more than happy not knowing that Rebs wants Martha to spy on her.
Nomncebo who also has a score to settle hires a clueless Nolitha to cater at her dinner. After the confrontation from Matshidiso MaMkhize confronts Bulelani for using her to make Matshidiso jealous, but Bulelani denies it.
Bulelani chastises Matshidiso for almost hitting poor MaMkhize, Matshidiso wants to know if they are dating or not. Bulelani later plays at Matshidiso’ jealousy and flirts with female patrons but Matshidiso tries her best not to seem bothered. Meanwhile Nandi informs Chuma that she has everything set up and Nolitha, Ifalethu and Chuma have an indoor picnic as an old flame is reignited as Pheko continues to sow seeds of discord in Velaphi.

The family, except for Velaphi, is happy to hear Nolitha has her first catering event. Velaphi skips school leaving Thenji frustrated, unbeknownst to Thenji; Velaphi is at the clinic with Amahle for a check-up.
Amahle freaks out over something weird in her tummy but her and Velaphi are relieved to learn that the baby was only kicking this hard for the first time. Excited, Velaphi and Amahle bond over a print-out of the baby scan as they talk about the kind of parents they hope to be.
At Nomncebo’s mansion, Nomcebo introduces Martha as the new helper, Chuma is not happy and warns Nomncebo about Rebs but she brushes him off and informs Chuma that he needs to attend the dinner she is planning for the next day. When Chuma leaves Nomcebo complains to her helper, Martha, about Chuma and Martha reports everything to Rebs on the phone.
Meanwhile Chuma who seems to have won Nolitha over is pleasantly surprised when Nolitha gives him his ring back and the two make love; Khaya who overhears their love making’s heart sinks.
Matshidiso has given up in trying to win Bulelani back, but Nelly tells her to be honest with him.
She finds out that Bulelani has been toying with her feelings and hides a smile when she realises that she has Bulelani right where she wants him as he chases after her.
Episode 28 – Busted

Nomsa is happy that things are good between Nolitha and Chuma as she prepares for Nomncebo’s dinner but it’s hard for Khaya to stomach. Khaya pays Nolitha at her kitchen and the two wish each other well as they promise to stay faithful to their partners and love each other from a distance. Thenji feels bad for how she treated Velaphi confides in Nomsa.
Thenji tells Nelly she wants to apologize to Velaphi for the hurtful things she said with a gift of the framed scan and Nelly thinks it’s a great idea and teases Thenji that she will soon be a grandmother. Velaphi who is getting used to the fact that he is going to be a father assures Amahle that things will eventually get better but things go south when Amahle starts bleeding. In Eshlahleni Matshidiso wants to get back together with Bulelani, but he is reluctant.
Matshidiso demands an answer from Bulelani who admits that he still loves Matshidiso, and they agree to giving it another go. At Nomncebo’s party, Leadership brings cigars for Chuma as a gift and they spark an idea in his head but he is left frozen when Nolitha walks in with food while in the background Nomncebo hides a victory smirk.
Episode 29 – Love and Loss

Nomncebo’s plan to break Nolitha and Chuma up backfires when Chuma leaves with Nolitha. A guilty Chuma tells Nolitha half-truths disguised as the whole truth but Nolitha is unforgiving. She hangs Chuma’s dirty laundry in front of the entire family and the Sokhulus are shocked to learn about Chuma’s double life.
While Chuma confronts Nomcebo about intentionally hiring his wife to cater for them and moves out of the mansion; Nandi is left feeling threatened when she finds her and Khaya embracing a distraught Nolitha.
Velaphi and Amahle panic when Amahle starts bleeding. They rush to the hospital and Velaphi is devastated when he learns that Amahle had a miscarriage. He however acts unaffected in front of his family which leaves Nomsa worried.
Velaphi tells Amahle she needs to be strong but she wants him to grieve and she breaks into tears while Velaphi watches her stoically. In the Eshalhleni streets Nelly’s wig is snatched and later Enhle buys a suspicious weave from Nyiko.
Episode 30 – Hell Hath No Fury

Thenji catches Velaphi bunking school and confronts him but she realises that he is hurting and she feels bad. She tries to convince Velaphi to go to school, but he tells her he does not see the point and Thenji not knowing what to do asks Malume Bulelani to have a talk with Velaphi.
Malume Bulelani tells her to give him some time but realises the depth of his sorrow when Velaphi lashes out at the family when they try to stage an intervention.
Meanwhile the Sokhulus have a family meeting to address Chuma’s infidelity but Nandi is left concerned when Khaya seems angrier than everyone. Nomsa advises Nolitha to fight for her marriage and inadvertently sets Nolitha on the warpath to Nomncebo’s house. Nolitha subtly threatens Nomcebo when Nomcebo insists Chuma will always run back to her and in her brokenness Nolitha tries to get back at Chuma by seducing Khaya, but Khaya resists temptation.
In her wrath Nolitha kicks Chuma out the house as he pleads for her to forgive him. Nelly’s is excited when Nyiko sells wigs to her at an affordable price, but she discovers that her own stolen wig is among the stock. Nelly and Thenji confront Nyiko about the stolen wigs threatening to call the police.
Nyiko promises to not steal wigs anymore and when Millicent, Nelly’s friend walks into the salon looking for an expensive wig for a wedding, Nelly seizes the moment promising to get her what she wants. Thenji wonders what Nelly’s plan is.
