SANC e-Register
eRegister is published in terms of Section 35 of the Nursing Act, 2005 as a copy of the active records in the official register of South African Nursing Council. It is primarily intended for use by employers or prospective employers who need to verify the registration status of an employee or prospective employee. Practitioners may also use eRegister to confirm their own registration status.
What do I need in order to use eRegister?
eRegister is a free-to-use application available to any Internet user. You will obviously need a computer (or other device) with a connection to the Internet. Your computer or device must have a suitable web browser program, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, etc. Most computers and devices that meet these requirements should be able to access eRegister without further adjustment.

How to start eRegister
eRegister has been designed to be as simple to use as possible. If you read the instructions on each screen and follow them, you should not have any difficulty. Take a moment to read through the Help page before getting started, as it contains additional information to assist you. Please read all note boxes carefully; they contain important information about the information displayed using eRegister.
To start your SANC electronic registration, simply follow the steps below:
STEP 1:
Go to SANC official web page: www.sanc.co.za
STEP 2:
On the menu bar, hover on ‘Registered Nurses & Midwives’ and click on ‘eRegister’
STEP 3:
On the South African Nursing Council Electronic Register of Nurses and Midwives portal, select this statement: “Click here to start the eRegister system.”
STEP 4:
In order to use the eRegister Portal, users must READ AND ACCEPT THE CONDITIONS, By clicking “I Accept the Conditions of Use,” you have agreed to all protocols enlisted.
STEP 5:
According to the page, enter SANC number or SA identity number and ‘Find’. (Please enter the South African Identity Number without any spaces.)
