SFTP PROGRAMME COORDINATOR
(3-Year fractional appointment)
SELF-FUNDED TEACHING PROGRAMMES (SFTP)
REFERENCE NUMBER: AEF11/2022
WESTVILLE CAMPUS
The incumbent will be responsible for the coordination, of academic, administrative and financial
activities that run across all the self-funded programmes on the Westville and Pietermaritzburg
campuses. This will include management of the SFTP support staff, programme managers, student
administration, human resources and finances. He/she will also serve as a representative of the self-
funded programmes on SMC and the SFTP Coordinating Committee.
The incumbent will report to the Dean & HoS.
Minimum requirements:
Doctoral degree in a relevant field;
At least 3 years of relevant experience, of which 2 years should be at an
appropriate leadership level at a tertiary institution;
Experience in the development and/or management of academic programmes and
Experience in staff management, budgeting and finance.
Incumbents who are permanent UKZN staff members must meet the requirements as set out in the
policy on private remunerative work.
- Communication will be limited to shortlisted candidates.
The remuneration package offered will be in accordance with the SFTP’s Guiding Principles on fixed-term appointments.
